Our class had the opportunity to meet Sophie Binder who shared her incredible sketchbooks and story with us. Sophie completed a trip around the world on her bicycle, with sketchbooks in hand. Sophie talked about how perfect the pairing of bicycle traffic and sketching are, and told us of her many adventures in so many countries.
One of the most amazing stories were of her time in the Middle East. Sophie just happened to be in the Middle East during 9-11 and spoke of the generosity of all the people she met. She explained that some people even thanked her for being there, during the time.
I look forward to Sophie's book, in which she will publish her drawings and writings from the trip.
